Sam's artwork

Sam does a lot of "artwork" at daycare -- fingerpainting, water color, crayons, pasting things on paper. A few times a week we pick up a stack of construction paper from his cubby, decorated with various styles and media. I was saving it all, just because ... but a few weekends ago, I finally started to do something with it.

  • Step 1. Digitize -- I set up the camera on a tripod on the dining room table, with a couple of work lights, and took a picture of each one.

  • Step 2: Crop, clean up, etc. (in progress)
  • Step 3: Screensaver! (coming soon)

A couple of Sam-things I wanted to share, before I forget.

  1. We've been reading Winnie-the-Pooh.  It comes free with iBooks on the iPad.  At first, we were reading a chapter each night, and I was impressed he could sit still and pay attention that long.  But the chapters get longer, so chapter 5 took three nights.  He seems to enjoy it though, and even remembers which chapter we're on.
  2. Sam and I took a walk to the pond to see the ducks a couple weekends ago. There are a few bridges on the path, and for each one Sam remarked it was a "big ol' bridge!"  Then we started on one bridge, more of a boardwalk really, that goes over (what is normally) the swampy area of the pond (but is now completely dry).  Sam was in the stroller, and as we rolled onto it Sam said "This is a big ol', big ol', big ol', big ol', big ol', big ol', ... " and didn't stop big ol'ing until we had reached the other end, 50 feet away, where he said "BRIDGE!"
